Exercise 2

Now that your eye is focussed on the beautiful shapes of the flowers you can begin to refine and define all the organic shapes, building up light layers and touches of colour.

Watch the video to help with this. Look for areas of shadow within the flowers to add depth. Notice the various different greens in the leaves. Practice observing and refining the shapes until it starts to feel an automatic process. If it’s easier then start with one or two flowers and then build up to more gradually.
