Lesson 10 of 27
In Progress
Exercise 1
The first video illustrates using large bold sweeping strokes to replicate the fluid movement and shapes of the petals and leaves. Ignore the vase and simply concentrate on the flowers. By keeping your arm free you will be able to keep your work loose and expressive. Avoid too much detail at this stage as it will make your work very tight. The idea is to observe and paint the character of the flowers, stems and leaves with fluid pastel marks. Note that I haven’t used any blending at all.
