Because of the variety of colors dancing about in the shadows, that is where I continued to work as I moved into the mid-values. To capture the reflected light on the underneath edges of the wrinkles, I added Grey Mauve (BE23). A little was used along the underneath surface of the tusks, in the legs and chest, a little on the ear and temple, and a bit in the subtle forehead shadows.
