Snow Is White, Isn’t It?

Snow is such a challenging subject to paint! When we approach a subject with snow in it, we know what we are trying to achieve but as soon as we put white on the page, we lose all interest and definition. So why is this?

A lot of it has to do with the science of colour, which, in itself, is a topic worthy of a lifetime study. Working towards mastering colour though, can take your art to a whole different level. The more you study the science of colour and trust me it isn’t as boring as it sounds, the more you will be able to create the affects you want in your work.
