Simplifying A Winter Lake – Introduction
When painting from a reference photo, there is a common trap into which an artist can fall: including everything because it is in the photo. Even in the case of a good photo, we should be asking ourselves if we can make it better. That was my goal when approaching this early winter lake scene.
