Summer Trees – Stage 6
The detailing on the right hand tree was completed using various greens, purples and plums. It is very important to paint back into the sky holes and you can see this on both the big tree and more distant tree on the right. At this stage I also added the tree trunks and branches with a dark brown pastel. Some artists like to paint the sky around the branch structure but I find this tedious and, with the exception of trunks and larger branches, I paint over the previously pastelled sky.
